Natalie Portman Opens Up About Reception of Star Wars Prequels and Her Character

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”21440″ img_size=”798×420″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Despite fans not having received Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Solo: A Star Wars Story well, no Star Wars movies have spawned such negative reactions from fans as the prequel trilogy. Telling the story of how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, you have masses of people picking the movies apart, when in reality they weren’t really that bad. Actress Natalie Portman portrayed Padme Amidala, the mother of Luke and Leia. Recently, she opened up to the backlash over her portrayal and the trilogy:

“It was hard. It was a bummer because it felt like people were so excited about new ones and then to have people feel disappointed. Also to be at an age that I didn’t really understand that’s kind of the nature of the beast. When something has that much anticipation it can almost only disappoint.”

Portman then continued, commenting on how the prequels are now received all these years later:

“With the perspective of time, it’s been re-evaluated by a lot of people who actually really love them now. There’s a very avid group of people who think they’re the best ones now! I don’t have enough perspective to weigh in.”

What did you think of the prequel trilogy?
