Netflix Marvel Shows Are Here to Stay, CCO States

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8578″ img_size=”800×500″][vc_column_text]While Disney will be launching their streaming service in 2019, fans of the Marvel Netflix series have no reason for concern. Despite the cancelation of Iron Fist, the Marvel shows are here to stay. The thought of having all Disney owned Marvel content together in one spot is a nice thought, but those who enjoy the Defenders-centric shows are accustomed to the way Netflix produces them. Characters like Jessica Jones and Frank Castle are edgy and dark and will a streaming service owned by a family-friendly company showcase sex scenes, bloody fights, and allow their characters to say words like “sh*t” and “f*ck”?

According to Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos:

“Those shows are for us to cancel,” he said, “and we’re super happy with their performance so far.”

Cancel shows they have. Iron Fist recently was canceled, stating there’d be no third season, even though the series came out with a much stronger second season than a first one. The Defenders also seems to be a project that won’t have a sequel, even though news reports on that go back and forth on that. Regardless, Daredevil season 3 is literally coming out in two days, and Jessica Jones is confirmed for a third season. The Punisher’s second season will most likely come out early 2019 and Luke Cage is sure to get renewed for a third season
