Just a few days after the new trailer and release date delay, Disney has released two new images of the upcoming Disney+ series Andor. The new photos show off series leads Diego Luna playing Cassian Andor who we know from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Genevieve O’Reilly as familiar series favorite, Mon Mothma.
The two new images show both characters in two enormously different worlds. We see in the image that O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma is in an immaculate and very clean white doorway, as well as in a white outfit that fits her Senator role. As we saw in the trailer released a few days ago, we know that she is using her ability as a representative of the Imperial Senate to aid the Rebellion and would go on to have a central role in the original 3 films. Mothma, using deception and her political pull in her battles, in the photo that shows Luna as Andor we see him in a much more violent and direct conflict. As we see in the image, Andor finds himself in some kind of factory, weapon drawn and ducking behind a piece of machinery. That piece of machinery is what’s currently saving his life from a laser shot from an unseen adversary hitting it, causing sparks to fly around the room. The two images tease that the upcoming Disney+ series will follow both sides of the building conflict between the Rebels and the Empire.

Andor will take place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Andor’s debut film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The first season of Andor will consist of 12 episodes, and has already been confirmed to be running for two seasons, with the production of the second season set to begin later this year.
Andor is being overseen by Tony Gilroyserving as showrunner, as well as a writer on the series alongside his brother Dan Gilroy, and Beau Willimon. Joining Diego Luna and Genevieve O’Reilly on the series’ cast include Forest Whitaker, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Kyle Soller, Denise Gough, Fiona Shaw, and Robert Emms, among others.
Andor is set to debut on Disney+ with a 3-episode premiere on September 21. You can check out the trailer down below.
