New Report Indicates Why Cyberpunk 2077 Was Delayed

Video game delays are nothing new and for the most part fans are fine with a delay because it means the final product will be that much better. Cyberpunk 2077 was originally set to release this April but has been pushed to September. A new report from Altchar indicates that the developers, CD Projekt Red, delayed the game because it is not living up to expectations on current consoles. Testing especially on the Xbox One has been less than satisfactory according to the report.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release for the Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. With the game performing at such low levels could this mean the game shifts to the next gen consoles instead? The new PS5 and Xbox Series X is just around the corner and I think fans would be thrilled to see it have an impact on the next gen console market. CD Projekt Red has not announced any plans to forgo any planned releases for the current console. Hopefully the delay will allow the team to get the game where they want it to be in time for launch.
