With Hello Games revealing the upcoming expansion Beyond earlier this month, we learned it would contain 3 smaller updates that were originally going to be released separately. The first of which would be No Man’s Sky Online and would usher in “a radically new social and multiplayer experience”

Now we know the second part of Beyond will allow players to experience No Man’s Sky through the world of VR. It will be available on PSVR and VR on steam and unlike games such as Skyrim or Fallout VR which require separate games, this will allow you to take your already existing worlds and adventures and play them straight in VR. No new games or separate save files.

When asked about VR coming to No Man’s Sky  Sean Murray of Hello Games stated “I guess it’s not a huge surprise, but all of the team here is in love with everything sci-fi. Virtual reality feels like a little science fiction becomes real, and has always seemed like a perfect fit for this futuristic game of ours.”

An official release date for the free update has not been given but No Man’s Sky: Beyond is still set to release some time this summer. So what are your thoughts on VR heading to No Man’s Sky? Will you be experiencing the thrill of flying through space through Vr? Let us know down below or over on Twitter.
