Noah Hawley’s Star Trek Project On Pause Due to Plot Dealing With a Widely Spread Virus

Noah Hawley’s Star Trek project is being put on the backburner. Why? Well, new Paramount Motion Picture Group President Emma Watts has decided that it wouldn’t be good for the time we’re in. Hawley’s Star Trek film deals with a virus that wipes out hugely vast parts of the universe. Considering the COVID-19 outbreak that’s crippled most of the world, it seems Watts believes it’s not a good time.

Not much else was said as to where this leaves future Star Trek film projects. Or if and when Hawley will be brought in to actually bring his vision to the big screen. Right now everything is at a stand-still and many projects are waiting to be given the green light to film.

As a fan of J.J. Abrams Star Trek and the franchise in general, more Star Trek content the better. So, hopefully they can find some way to make it work out.
