The whole Star Wars Universe is as diverse as the fans who have followed it. Some love all of it, some love just the original trilogy, and all points in between. So it only follows that the final film of the Skywalker saga would also elicit diverse opinions. However, at first blush for Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker, the positives seem to outweigh the negatives. This will more than likely become more clear as the public sees the film on the 20th. Here are some of the twitter reactions after the premier:
#STARWARS ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ reactions are in…& they are overwhelmingly positive, but not perfect.
Positives:
• Epic
• Non-stop action
• Lots of fan service
• Immensely satisfying
• Very emotionalMixed:
• A bit convoluted
• Big changes in direction from Ep. 8 pic.twitter.com/KRZ5K5Cc6H— DR Movie News 📽 (@DRMovieNews1) December 17, 2019
I’ve seen #StarWarsTheRiseofSkywalker. It’s… a lot. There’s a lot I like and some I loved but overall my feelings are pretty mixed. It felt like an apology for The Last Jedi in some ways and a sequel to The Force Awakens in many, which I found frustrating. pic.twitter.com/6m8sOQWhTx

#StarWars #TheRiseOfSkywalker is a lot. It’s a big, giant movie with a lot of spectacle and high stakes and it’s definitely going to start a conversation (or a lot of conversations) among fans.

At worst, I expected #TheRiseOfSkywalker to be a well made movie that I didn't like or whose story choices I disagreed with. I was not expecting a genuinely bad movie with video game plotting, thin characters, weak action and endless exposition of no consequence. Heartbreaking…

#StarWars #TheRiseOfSkwalker reaction: One word: EPIC! A satisfying crowd pleasing adventure, and a fitting end to the saga! My favorite of the three! Can't wait to see it again!

All I can say is “wow.”#StarWars: #TheRiseOfSkywalker is many things: horrifying, hopeful, violent, lowkey horny, and full of the right kind of fan service.
But most of all, it’s a fitting ending for this incredible, 40+ year-long saga. pic.twitter.com/pd2GEwI7O3

At the @starwars premiere, I saw @Jon_Favreau and he gave me a #Mandalorian coin. If I could spend it to see #TheRiseOfSkywalker again right now I would! EPIC ending to the Saga, in which J.J. gives us a satisfying and gratifying finale! (And they finally do right by Chewie!) pic.twitter.com/qyh8L2XEiq

THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is everything I wanted it to be — because there’s never been a STAR WARS movie like this before.
It’s dark and scary, but hopeful and beautiful.
It ends the trilogy while also ending the saga as a whole.
I know I’m rambling — but I worship this movie. pic.twitter.com/XoJFl8Rv8n

I’m still processing #StarWars #TheRiseofSkywalker. The emotional highs are spectacular, and there are a lot of payoffs (some earned, some not). But some choices feel like an unnecessary course-correct from The Last Jedi and some just plain don’t make sense. Need to see it again pic.twitter.com/NcgBbAeCVx

Well… #TheRiseOfSkywalker is a drastic departure from TLJ, but also not as invigorating as TFA. It is a movie packed with action (it’s seriously nonstop), but also jammed with fan service. @starwars fans – brace for the debates. pic.twitter.com/DjKo9ejRWw

This was just a minuscule amount of the reactions with emotions and opinions going both ways. If nothing else, it will promote what we would hope would be a healthy debate. When it comes to Star Wars, that is pretty much baked in. Are you excited to see the final of the Skywalker Saga? Do you let initial reactions effect your opinions or do you want to judge for yourself? We look forward to your conclusions (minus spoilers at this early stage) here at GeekVibesNation.
