PlayStation 5 vs Xbox Series X – A Tale of The Specs

Earlier today Sony dropped the specs for its next gen console, the PS5. While the stats are quite impressive, they seem to come under what Microsoft has revealed so far about its next gen console, the Xbox Series X. IGN has put together a nice Tale of the Tape so to speak which compares both consoles.

While these stats might mean something underneath the hood, on the surface it might not mean much for Microsoft fans due to Sony usually getting better video game titles and exclusives.  For years Sony has dominated the gaming console market and even though the Xbox has touted better hardware, they just cannot compete with Sony. Xbox has issues with their gaming servers constantly and even had a major outage earlier this month. Sony in a lot of ways is like Apple, it just works. It does what it says it is going to do.

Sony has beaten Microsoft over the past three console generations, with the PS2, PS3, and PS4 all outselling the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, respectively.

Do you think the Xbox Series X can take down Sony…or will it become just another victim to the PlayStation brand? I have always owned both systems but in the end I must say when it comes to video game titles and the exclusives, Sony is the champ.

Let us know your thoughts on the latest specs for both systems. Are you team Sony or team Microsoft?

Both systems are planned for release later this year.
