While under heavily armed guard, the dangerous convicts aboard a cargo ship unite in a coordinated escape attempt that soon escalates into a bloody, all-out riot. But as the fugitives continue their brutal campaign of terror, they soon discover that not even the most vicious among them is safe from the horror they unknowingly unleashed from the darkness below deck.

Video Quality
Project Wolf Hunting comes to Blu-Ray with a really great AVC encoded 1080p transfer in its original 2.39:1 aspect ratio. This film has a boosted color palette with very distinct grading with sheens of yellow, green and orange showing as a common occurrence which underscores the hyper-reality of the narrative. The hues present within this one are quite impressive as they saturate the screen with a real presence. Everything appears natural when it comes to the dingy locations and elements of the clothing and production design. Black levels are mostly solid in their depth with only a little bit of banding in some darker scenes. The film showcases some intense visuals, but the level of detail can be a bit lacking in some of the more unrelentingly dark moments. Elements such as facial features and the textured blood on skin are effective. Most will be pleased by the work done with this one.
Audio Quality
The Blu-Ray disc comes with a strong DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio presentation in the original Korean that handles the content impeccably well. There is also an English dub in the same format which we would avoid for artistic integrity. The track provides an expert level immersion into this nightmare so that even the most discreet elements are represented. Directionality of sound is clear and precise at every turn, and dialogue is reproduced with great clarity. Sounds are reproduced well during the more kinetic sequences, and rest assured you can feel every punch and kick land with a real weight. The brawls, shootouts and other such kinetic moments provide a notable amount of activity in the low end. The audio presentation is a real forceful endeavor. Optional English subtitles are provided.

Final Thoughts
Project Wolf Hunting is a manically violent action film which really captures the daring spirit of some of the best in the genre. The creative team uses blood like an impressionist artist uses paint. The creativity on display within the brutality is very impressive. The film is a bit too long for what it needs to be, but it rarely causes you to lose your interest in the journey. Well Go USA has released a Blu-Ray with a strong A/V presentation and a few paltry special features. If you are looking to experience one of the most violent films of the year, give this one a spin.
