While fans love the animated adaptation of Invincible and probably would be satisfied with the job Amazon Prime has done, don’t forget that there is a live-action adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic book in the works. It’s hard to think of a way the live-action version is going to top the stellar performances that have been given in the animated version, but we’re excited nonetheless.
So, how will the live-action Invincible differ from the animated show? Kirkman was asked during Comic-Con@Home and this is what he said:
“I’m not telling! This is another one of those things that’s a little early going but I will say that there are massive efforts going in to make sure that the film experience is unique [and separate from the animated series]…while also being true to Invincible. I couldn’t be more excited about the stuff that we’re doing but I can’t tell you yet.”
Kirkman is staying mum on this one, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited for it. In the animated version, we have powerhouses like Steven Yeun and J.K. Simmons, among other awesome actors. So, who will be playing their live-action counterparts? As Kirkman says, it’s pretty early to speculate, but who would you like to see star in the live-action version of Invincible?
