Rumor: Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Have Signed On For ‘SPIDER-MAN 3’

It’s the speculation many have mulled around since it was announced that Jamie Foxx would be in Spider-Man 3 as Electro, a character he played in the second The Amazing Spider-Man. We’re now in the MCU and Tom Holland is our Peter Parker, but it seems Sony is carving out its own live-action multiverse.

According to FandomWire, both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return as their own respective Peter Parker’s in the 3rd film. I would take this as a gain of salt. But considering we’ve have J.K . Simmons reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson from Maguire’s run of Spider-Man. And now a Garfield era villain i.e. Electro coming back with the original actor, it seems that the studio is pulling out all the stops of “go big or go home”.

The site also goes on to say that Tobey and Andrew will come in towards the final act as Spider-Man villains from across Sony’s Spider-Verse will be making an appearance and it will take all three Spider-Man’s to take them down.

Cake this on top of Benedict Cumberbatch being confirmed to come in as Doctor Strange in Spider-Man 3. Considering it seems his movie and WandaVision look to explore a multiverse, it wouldn’t be surprising if things got a little strange in Spider-Man 3…
