Fans had speculated which Jedi would answer Grogu’s call. And it was possibly the most notable Jedi of all – Luke Skywalker! Played by Mark Hamill himself. Granted, a de-aged Luke Skywalker, but Luke all the same. While his scene was short, it was memorable. And opened the door for a curious storyline that it would be a shame if it’s a one-time thing.
Lucasfilm has been announcing a lot of spinoff shows from The Mandalorian. And FandomWire is reporting that a Luke Skywalker series is in development. Granted, this isn’t exactly confirmed, but it would only make sense that Luke’s scene in the season two finale of The Mandalorian was opening a door for a new series. I mean, we have to see more Grogu, right? And if Baby Yoda is with Luke, then the only way we’d see Disney’s biggest cash cow is via a Luke Skywalker series.
Fandom Wire also reports that the show would most likely recast Luke Skywalker with a younger actor. De-aging Mark Hamill for a quick scene worked in that case, but for a whole show? It’d be mighty expensive and probably wouldn’t end up looking too good. Is this finally the chance Sebastian Stan will get to play Luke? Fans have fan-casted Stan as a younger Luke Skywalker for ages now. I mean, the look is spot on. I know Stan is busy with the MCU, but it’d be pretty cool all the same.
Would you want to see a Luke Skywalker series? And who would you want to play him?
