[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9265″ img_size=”948×435″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Despite negative review from critics, Venom is a box office success, with reports coming in that the Sony movie has surpassed $500 million worldwide during its four weeks in theater. Venom had a $100 million dollar budget and considering that the film hasn’t opened yet to several markets, I’d say they more than made their money back. With this success, Sony is pretty much greenlit for their own Marvel Universe which kicked off with the Tom Hardy led film, and now will move on to Jared Leto’s Morbius.
Venom will remain in theaters and considering it has yet to be released in Japan or China, we could see the movie pushing about $750 million globally. For a movie that critics haven’t been too nice to and that was expected not to fair well, I think that Venom is exceeding our expectation and showing that perhaps Sony is learning how to make some proper Marvel films.
Have you seen Venom?
