The advent of new weight loss drugs has a huge impact on everyone in South Park. When Cartman is denied access to the life-changing medicine, the kids jump into action.

    Video Quality

South Park: The End Of Obesity debuts on Blu-Ray with a top-tier transfer that is as fetching as any other release from the series in recent years. The modern era of the series has a consistent aesthetic, and it is executed with nary a hiccup here. The only fleeting issue is some minor banding in the background, but it is not a serious detriment. This wonderful presentation is free of dirt, debris, or digital nuisances. The colors are resplendent throughout this special, and the transfer displays as much detail in the animation as the production style allows. The thick lines and details are crisp and maintained well without bleeding into other segments of the screen. South Park always delivers on Blu-Ray.

    Audio Quality

The Blu-Ray comes with a nice Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack that executes everything really well. Dialogue is the focus of the track with a clear presentation anchored in the center speaker that creeps into the surrounds during opportune moments. The music permeates the room with impeccable fidelity along with some interstitial stings in the rear channels. There are a plethora of environmental sound effects throughout the special that make the soundscape more nuanced. The audio delivers on all fronts. Optional English SDH subtitles are provided.

    Special Features

There are no special features provided on this disc.

    Final Thoughts

South Park: The End Of Obesity is one of the best specials yet from Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and their team. There is some really clever commentary on influencer culture, body positivity and extreme weight loss. We would prefer to get a new full season from the creatives, but this special really hits the spot for longtime fans of the series. Paramount Home Entertainment has released this latest special on Blu-Ray with a top-tier A/V presentation but nothing in the way of special features. Fans of the series should pick this up. Recommended

South Park: The End Of Obesity is currently available to purchase on Blu-Ray and DVD.
