TL;DR
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day has passed $1 billion internationally after just 10 days.
- The film has earned approximately $655.1 million domestically and $1.67 billion worldwide.
- Its $144.5 million second domestic weekend is the third-biggest ever.
- The movie is now closing in on No Way Home and its $1.92 billion worldwide total.
At this point, the question surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day is no longer whether the movie is a box office hit. The question is just how high this thing can possibly go.
Tom Holland’s latest adventure as Peter Parker has officially crossed $1 billion from international markets alone, reaching the milestone after just 10 days of release. Combined with an estimated $655.1 million from the United States and Canada, Brand New Day has already climbed to approximately $1.67 billion worldwide,
That is an extraordinary total for a movie that has barely completed its second weekend. It also puts Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man film within striking distance of No Way Home, which finished its original theatrical run with approximately $1.92 billion worldwide and remains the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever made.
Spider-Man Refused To Slow Down In Weekend Two
Massive opening weekends can sometimes hide weak staying power. A movie explodes out of the gate because of advance sales and fan excitement, only to collapse once the core audience has already seen it. Brand New Day is showing very little evidence of that problem.
The film collected an estimated $144.5 million domestically during its second weekend, bringing its North American total to $655.1 million. That sophomore frame ranks as the third-biggest second weekend ever, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $149.2 million and Avengers: Endgame at $147.4 million.
It also gives Sony another enormous benchmark. Few films in history have managed a second weekend above $100 million, and Brand New Day nearly reached $145 million even after opening at historic levels one week earlier.
The International Numbers May Be Even More Impressive
The domestic performance has understandably received plenty of attention, particularly after the movie’s record-breaking launch. But the international audience is what has pushed Brand New Day into a completely different financial category.
More than $1 billion of the movie’s $1.67 billion worldwide total has now come from overseas territories. That means Brand New Day has already earned more internationally than the vast majority of superhero movies make worldwide during their entire theatrical runs.
The movie also has the advantage of playing in China, a market that No Way Home never received. Holland’s previous Spider-Man adventure still reached approximately $1.92 billion worldwide without China, making its total even more remarkable. For Brand New Day, strong business there provides another major source of revenue as the movie attempts to catch its predecessor.

No Way Home’s Record Suddenly Looks Reachable
Before release, surpassing No Way Home seemed like an extremely difficult assignment. That movie was more than a conventional Spider-Man sequel. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returned alongside Holland, while villains from multiple generations of Spider-Man movies turned the release into a genuine theatrical event.
Brand New Day has taken a different route. Destin Daniel Cretton’s film moves Peter away from the multiverse spectacle that defined No Way Home, instead focusing on his isolated life after everyone he loves forgot Peter Parker existed. The movie still brings in major Marvel characters, but the emotional foundation is more personal.
Audiences clearly did not need another three-Spider-Man reunion to show up. With approximately $1.67 billion already banked, Brand New Day needs roughly another $250 million to reach the worldwide territory occupied by No Way Home. At its current pace, passing that movie is no longer an unrealistic possibility.
Could Brand New Day Actually Reach $2 Billion?
Crossing $2 billion remains a much larger challenge, but it has entered the conversation much sooner than anyone could have reasonably expected. The movie would need approximately another $330 million from its current estimated worldwide total to reach that landmark.
That sounds like a lot until you consider that Brand New Day just made $144.5 million domestically during a single second weekend while international markets continue contributing heavily. Strong audience response and repeat business could keep it near the top of the box office throughout the remainder of August.
There are still reasons to be cautious. Blockbusters that open this high tend to burn through demand quickly, and the movie has already attracted millions of viewers who were determined to see it immediately. Even so, Brand New Day does not need extraordinary holds from this point forward to become Holland’s biggest Spider-Man movie.
It Is Already The Biggest Movie Of 2026
The film did not need long to claim the yearly box office crown. Brand New Day has already passed the other major worldwide releases of 2026 and established a substantial lead after less than two weeks in theaters.
Its performance also pushes back against the idea that superhero fatigue automatically prevents comic-book films from reaching enormous numbers. Audiences have clearly become more selective, and a Marvel or DC logo alone no longer guarantees success. Spider-Man, however, continues to operate on a different level from most superhero properties.
Across Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, the character has remained one of Hollywood’s most dependable theatrical attractions for more than two decades. Brand New Day shows that Holland’s Peter Parker can still generate enormous interest even after the multiverse spectacle of No Way Home.
Spider-Man Remains Sony’s Biggest Weapon
The performance reinforces why Sony’s relationship with Spider-Man remains so important. Sony controls the character’s theatrical movie rights while working with Marvel Studios on Holland’s MCU appearances, creating an arrangement that has produced some of the studio’s largest releases ever.
Brand New Day has now gone beyond simply validating another sequel. Its box office suggests audiences remain deeply invested in Holland’s Peter even after the storyline that began with Homecoming, continued through Far From Home and seemingly reached its emotional climax in No Way Home.
Instead of feeling like an unnecessary fourth installment, the new movie has successfully launched another chapter of Peter Parker’s life. That gives Sony and Marvel considerable flexibility when deciding where Spider-Man goes next.
The Ceiling Keeps Getting Higher
First, the conversation centered around whether Spider-Man: Brand New Day could deliver one of the biggest opening weekends ever. Then attention shifted toward how quickly it could cross $1 billion worldwide. Now the movie has passed $1 billion from international markets alone and sits at approximately $1.67 billion globally.
No Way Home still holds the Spider-Man crown at approximately $1.92 billion worldwide, but the gap is shrinking much faster than expected. If Brand New Day maintains strong momentum through the rest of its theatrical run, Holland could soon break his own franchise record.
And if that happens, the next conversation will become even bigger: whether Spider-Man is about to join the extremely exclusive $2 billion club.
