Star Trek: Discovery’s Ethan Peck Pegged For Role in ‘Penny Dreadful’ Spin-off

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25565″ img_size=”520×292″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When Ethan Peck was hired for his role as Mr. Spock in the 2nd Season of CBS-All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery, he knew it was just for one season. Fortunately for the actor, he didn’t have to wait long to find work. Peck has been brought on to play a role in the Penny Dreadful Spin-off entitled: Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. He will play a character named Herman Ackerman. According to TVLine, his character will be “the charismatic second-in-command at the German American Bund, whose aggressive politics, heated rhetoric and personal magnetism inevitably create tension within the group.”

While this is good news for Peck, it is not great news for fans of Discovery. When the Star Trek producers decided to bring back the iconic character, they knew they were taking a big risk. However, when they chose Ethan Peck to fill the role, it proved to be a good choice. Both for the re-introduction of the character and the actor chosen. Now that Peck has found other employment, it comes to the chagrin of fan’s who liked the use of Spock, as well as Captain Pike and Number One. Unfortunately, those characters were also only being used for last season. This fact didn’t stop fans from hoping that perhaps, they might be brought back in a spin-off. The possibility of that just took a hit with Ethan Peck’s new gig.

For you Star Trek: Discovery fan’s, Are you disappointed that a possible Enterprise Spin-off with Pike, Spock, and Number One, isn’t happening? At least in the short term. For you fans of Penny Dreadful, are you excited about the Spin-Off and the addition of Ethan Peck? In either case, let us know at GeekVibesNation.
