Star Trek: Picard Review

Geek Vibes Nation Star Trek Picard

Star Trek is back and for the most part, while we have all gone out into deep space and seen the abyss, darkness, and beauty of it there is still life in this old ship. Picard on Thursday was launched on CBS ALL ACCESS. There is a lot of change and one very big constant. It feels that this show marks a huge step up for CBS All Access as must-see television.

I’ve tried sitting here and talk about the new episode yet I find it hard. I do not wish to actually give anything to much away and there is fan service in this show. In fact, there are a lot of little trinkets that I even had to think about but did recall. I was a child the last time the TNG crew were off on some adventure. Before JJ and crew rebooted/changed it. Which does play into this. The show also hints at a different type of home life for those that are in this world now. It’s not as open as it once was.

It is a showcase for Patrick Stewart and all the reasons why I think TNG has lived on and why people enjoy him as a captain. You meet him after he has had his career with Starfleet. He’s haunted over one mission; what happened and how Starfleet abandoned Romulans and have also done away with androids. These incidents play heavy in the premiere of Picard.

The show can become something all its own. We have all been out in space before over the years. There are a lot of different aspects shown of the Star Trek world and yet I think at the end of the day while there is darkness and things have changed hope and prevalence of good is a good thing. One we all need more of in these dark years. No matter what side you’re on. That is Star Trek. I can’t wait to see next week and how they add on to this. I hope we see more of the world and they bring in more of the characters.
