It was recently announced that Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles was developing a prequel series alongside wife, which would focus on the parents of the original show’s main characters. Ackles played Dean Winchester for 15 seasons alongside his co-star Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester. The show will focus on Sam and Dean’s parents, John and Mary. According to Padalecki, he only found out about the project via Twitter like the rest of us.
Padalecki has now confirmed he and Ackles have spoken:

The show is early in the process with miles to go.
We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps.
