Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki Will Star in Walker, Texas Ranger Reboot as Main Character

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”29947″ img_size=”913×466″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The CW’s popular series Supernatural is coming to an end, but co-star Jared Padalecki just found his new gig. CBS TV Studios will be producing a Walker, Texas Ranger reboot with Padalecki tapped to star in it. According to Deadline, the project is being shopped around to multiple networks with CBS and the CW being the lead contenders.

Padalecki will serve as an executive producer alongside Lindsey Liberstore and Dan Spilo. The new series is being written by Anna Frickle (who is also an executive producer) along with Dan Lin. This new Walker, Texas Ranger will be an official reboot of the original series meaning it has nothing to do with Chuck Norris’s original show.

Padalecki is set to play Cordell Walker, who is described as:

“a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit.”

Walker is a widower and father of two who returns to Austin, Texas after he’s spent years undercover. His partner is one of the only women in the history of Texas Rangers and it seems that coming home means facing new challenges.
