Wonka’s The Golden Ticket Review – A Stunning Cutthroat Reality Series

Twelve lucky Golden Ticket winners alongside their partners are set to go through the gates of Wonka’s Chocolate Factory in an attempt to win a life-changing prize on the reality TV show Wonka’s The Golden Ticket. The nine-episode series saw the first seven episodes debut on Netflix. The set design and stunning color palette make this reality series fully immersive for audiences wishing they were chasing the prize themselves. One of the best reality TV shows of 2026. 

What is Wonka’s The Golden Ticket about?

Wonka’s The Golden Ticket follows pairings of two navigating Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, which is designed to challenge contestants physically, mentally, and morally. The high-stakes social experiment follows players as they journey through the unpredictable games full of twists and turns, forcing them to make decisions that they may soon regret. In the end, only one contestant will have what it takes to earn the life-changing prize Wonka is offering.

I am not sure if we have seen a reality TV cut straight to the point as we do within the first episode of The Golden Ticket. From the moment you enter the walls of Wonka, you along with the contestants are challenged with the idea of what would you do. For that reason, you are immediately immersed and never want to leave. I will be SHOCKED if this series doesn’t receive multiple nominations next Emmy cycle. 

The set design is truly magical. The fact that they not only built Wonka’s factory but also, as the contestants wander around, you find out that they built it so many layers of it were edible. I could not believe what I was seeing. And that is just talking about the beginning of the factory. We aren’t even talking about the cool games played, the elevators, Wonka-Vision, and more. Between this and Beast Games, the battle for best set design this year is hot. 

With the no-nonsense nature of the show, the cast has dwindled from 24 to 6 with only two episodes remaining. Although my personal favorites have been eliminated (shout out to Ava and Kayla), we are down to one pairing still around with Bryce and Taylor, Gabby, and Ziad. We were left with a massive cliffhanger with Garrison or Ziad’s partner Austin heading into the finals. Personally I am rooting for Gabby to take it, as I think she will be the final “sole” contestant remaining in the finale. 

One of the only things I find myself struggling with is understanding the lack of knowledge within the contestants. It’s weird because of shows like Squid Games, you think there is too much of getting to know contestants, but in this, it was few and far between. While I did find myself rooting for specific people, I wasn’t FULLY connected. Again, it’s a peculiar internal struggle because a little more might’ve added unneeded episodes instead of what we got. I’ll be intrigued to hear what audiences think of this element. 

Is Wonka’s The Golden Ticket worth watching?

Wonka’s The Golden Ticket is an immersive, stunning, and ruthless experience that is one of the best new reality TV shows of 2026. As a reality TV fiend, I truly found myself invested in what was happening. Unlike other reality TV shows, The Golden Ticket gets the ball rolling early with the cutthroat eliminations and doesn’t waste time. It reminds me much of Beast Games, but with fewer people and a tasty little treat of a set. Whether you are a fan of reality TV or not, you can’t miss watching this show.
