Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are the creators of The Haunting of Hill House and the Haunting of Bly Manor, both successful shows for Netflix, and the streaming service wants to continue the relationship with the talented guys. Flanagan and Macy will adapt Christopher Pike’s young adult novel The Midnight.
Flanagan tweeted out:
“Portraying the titular club of terminally ill young adults is an amazing group of young actors.”
Igby Rigney, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, and relative newcomers Adia, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, and Sauriyan Sapkota were cast. In addition, Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, and Matt Biedel will be in supporting roles.
Also, horror-movie legend Heather Langenkamp will be joining the series to play the doctor who runs the hospice, which The Midnight takes place in.
