The Mandalorian’s Bill Burr Weighs In On Co-Star Gina Carano’s Firing

Bill Burr tells it like it is. And he certainly wasn’t holding back when talking about the recent firing of Gina Carano by Disney. Carano played Cara Dune for two seasons of The Mandalorian. People began calling for the actress’s firing after posting a few tweets online that people found ill-conceived. Things really boiled over when Carano posted something on Instagram that somewhat compared being conservative to being in the Holocaust. Disney did not take too kindly to this and released Carano from her contract.

The comedian, Bill Burr; plays Meyfeld on The Mandalorian. And he’s the first actor from the show to weigh in on the situation:

“It’s a weird time….Unless she did some truly horrible shit or said overtly racist shit. I don’t know. I think there is just too many channels. And then you gotta do sensational shit…I don’t know what the fuck it is. I’m on that fucking show. Now, I gotta watch what the fuck I say.”

Burr continued:

“And you know whatever and somehow someone will take this video and they’ll make me say something else and try to get rid of my bald action figure…It’s how it is out there. It’s fucking crazy times. People just waiting, laying in the weeds.”

Burr talked more about cancel culture:

“Now it’s becoming like, ‘Hey you made an ignorant comparison. (flushing sound) There goes your dream, right? I look at that and it’s like, ‘Who the fuck stands up to that?’”

Do you agree with Burr? Did Disney make the right decision? Let us know your thoughts!
