The Russo’s Discuss The Possibility of Doing the Story of Cap’s Time Travel

As most everyone knows, the end of Avengers Endgame featured Captain America going back in time to live a life with Peggy Carter. However, other than that final dance, we never got to see the story that lead up to it. Nor did we get to experience their lives afterwards.

The Time Travel Story

Fan’s being fans, have expressed an interest in seeing that story told. Recently, Joe and Anthony Russo were asked by ComicbookMovies.Con if they could see that happening. Joe took that question on:

Joe: It would be a great story to tell, no question. I don’t know whether it needs to be told, but it would be a great story to tell, and we’d love to tell it, but I think there are other stories to move on to now.

Avengers Assemble

Well that’s one step forward, one step back. But he didn’t dismiss it, so there’s that. The Russo’s were also asked whether it was ever considered to have anyone but Cap to exclaim “Avengers Assemble!” Their answer was emphatic.

Anthony: No!

Joe: We really didn’t. We always felt like it needed to be Cap’s moment, and I’m not sure why, but for us, we always thought it was going to be Cap’s moment.

Anthony: I don’t ever remember a moment where we ever talked about it being anything other than Cap’s moment. Cap was always a special guide for us through the storytelling because he was the access point to the MCU for us. So, we do certainly look to and rely upon that character for a lot of the important parts of the narrative for sure.

In this matter, I agree with them. Only Cap should have and could have made that declaration. He was teased to do so at the end of Age of Ultron, so it was a given who would make that clarion call at the end of Endgame.

Would you like to see another Captain America film telling the story of his alternate life? Could you except it with someone other than Chris Evans as Cap? Share what you would like to see if that were come to pass here at GeekVibesNation.
