Todd McFarlane Provides Update On ‘SPAWN’ Film

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4399″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The last we heard from Todd McFarlane regarding his upcoming Spawn film, he was looking for a studio to distribute the film. He had the cast and the script but no studio.  Todd recently spoke with ComicBook and provided an update regarding the status of the film which now it seems has hit another snag. Todd indicates that it’s come down to agreeing on the script before the film can begin production.

“The money’s sitting on the sidelines ready to go. I just need to get everyone that wants to put in money to shake their heads to the same script. As you can imagine, everyone has a slightly different version of it in their head. You just go and trying to appease a handful of people while not giving in to what it is that I’m trying to do myself. Because if I have to change it too much, I’ll just walk away from it all.”

Todd has always maintained he wanted the movie to be his vision and it seems he is sticking to his guns. Willing to change the script slightly but it does not sound like he is going to make any major overhauls to it.

Spawn would mark the directorial debut of Todd McFarlane and the first time Spawn has been on the big screen since 1997 film.

Hopefully something can be worked out and they can come to a middle ground to get this film going. Jamie Foxx and Jeremy Renner are both attached to star.
