Due to coronavirus forcing film production to change several times in 2020, actors had to jump from one production to the next with little down time. One of those actors was Tom Holland. Holland finished filming on Uncharted and went right to work on the third Spider-Man film. Holland says that during filming, director Jon Watts was questioning this new swagger Holland was bringing to the role of Peter Parker.
“I was doing this scene [on the new film] where I’m walking into this building and there is this cool cinematic shot pushing in behind me and [producer] Amy Pascal took me aside and said, ‘Why are you walking like that? You’re walking like a man; you need to walk like a boy, I went back and watched the monitor, and I could see I was walking with a swagger and confidence. Jon Watts [the director of all three of Holland’s Spider-Man films] was like, ‘It’s fine, it’s [Uncharted’s] Nathan Drake. We’ll iron him out and get Peter Parker back.’”
Holland also says he Spider-Man has always been his dream role and when it comes to choosing other roles he says he chooses them based on if his parents and grandparents might enjoy them.
“I always say with my Grandad Bob that I do one for me and one for him. Uncharted is very much one for me , and Cherry is one for him”
Cherry is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 26, 2021, and on Apple TV+ on March 12, 2021
Uncharted is scheduled for February 2022 and Spider-Man 3 is currently filming but will release in December 2021
