Universal Studios Received Death Threats Over The Hunt

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”27317″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]In case you hadn’t heard, Universal’s The Hunt has been scrapped. The horror film about a group of right-wing individuals being hunted by some left-wing individuals was decidedly given the boot after the horrific mass shootings recently.

According to a screen test on August 6th, viewers were left uncomfortable by the political statements throughout the Jason Blum-produced film. Originally, Universal just pulled advertising for the movie after receiving death threats via email and social media after the mass shootings that have recently occurred. Not only this, but internal security force became involved and Donald Trump even tweeted about the film. Fox News was not happy.

For myself personally, I suppose I didn’t originally understand that the movie was so politically charged. If you had any doubts, though; the original title of the film was called Red State vs Blue State.

The Hunt was meant to hit theaters on September 27th, but now it’s stuck in limbo.
