It was done at a time when first person shooters were very popular. Half-Life followed games like ID’s Quake and Doom. In fact, Half-Life proved to be so popular that a sequel, Half-Life 2 was released in 2004. From that point, a couple of more episodic style games were released in Half-Life 2: Episode One (2006) and Half-Life 2: Episode Two (2007). After that there had been talk of a follow-up but nothing transpired…until now.
Confirming what had generally been but rumors, Valve announced on Twitter that another Half-Life game was indeed in the works and going by the name of Half-Life: Alyx. Details were sketchy but more was promised to be announced on Thursday, 10am Pacific time.
We’re excited to unveil Half-Life: Alyx, our flagship VR game, this Thursday at 10am Pacific Time.
Can’t wait to share it with all of you! pic.twitter.com/BupFCxSrTw
