Veronica Mars Creator Says There’s No Current Plans for a Fifth Season

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”7033″ img_size=”825×464″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Burnt marshmallows, Logan Echolls may not be coming back from the dead, but neither is Veronica Mars. After that huge shocker at the end of the 2019 revival of the cult-classic show Veronica Mars resulted in the death of Jason Dohring’s popular character, the fanbase has cut off their friendship with the show and creator Rob Thomas. While Veronica Mars fans have been one of most passionate bunch and even put together a Kickstarter for a 2014 movie after the original series was canceled after three seasons in the early 2000s, fans were not happy with season four. Not only did people dislike Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) lack of maturity, but the fact that both Bell and Thomas were tone-deaf to the fact that everyone loved Dohring’s Logan.

Plus, Dohring himself seemed super sad at the death of his long-time character and we hate to see Dohring cry.

While a revival may have been the start of a new wave of seasons for Veronica Mars, Thomas has spoken and let fans know that he wouldn’t hold his breath if he were you. People Magazine reports that Thomas has let them know there are no talks of a fifth season, but that he wouldn’t rule out another season down the line. Must fans wait another ten years and another death of a popular character? Will Veronica still be in her high school ways at the age of sixty?

Thomas does, though; have ideas:

“One of which is very Agatha Christie-esque. Something that is so explicitly detective-y … I want to really lean into that we are a detective show … I feel like season 4 was the bridge season, to take us from half soap opera/half mystery show to full detective/mystery show.”

Do you want a fifth season or did Logan’s death lose you?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
