Thor made a perfect addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War. This team was reunited at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Thor decided to leave New Asgard in Valkyrie’s capable hands and stepped on board, much to Peter Quill’s chagrin. While it seemed obvious that we’d see the team and God of Thunder interact in the upcoming installments, directors of both GotG and Thor: Love and Thunder have been coy about this subject. One actor, though; seems to have “spilled the beans” when it comes to this epic collaboration.
It may be easy to forget, but Vin Diesel is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s been voicing Groot since the first Guardians of the Galaxy and will play a new superhero in his upcoming Bloodshot movie. While promoting that film, Diesel revealed that Thor 4 will feature the Guardians:
“I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park. He took The Suicide Squad so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also, the director talked to me about Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Diesel made sure to express that nothing is confirmed:
“That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”
I think we assumed that it’d be Thor featured in the third Guardians of the Galaxy, so it will be interesting (if it happens) to see the galactic team in a Thor movie. Either way, we can’t have seen the last of the budding friendship between the Guardians and Thor, even if Star-Lord may not like it that much.
