‘Walking Dead’ Creator Hinted for ‘American Werewolf in London‘ Reboot

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”32089″ img_size=”640×334″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]In 1981 John Landis did a film that put a new spin on the Werewolf tale. In his film, An American Werewolf in London, two backpackers make their way through a rural part of England when they come across a werewolf. During their confrontation, one of the two is killed. The other American survives and must deal with the curse of being a werewolf.

The popularity of the film lead to a sequel and talks of another follow-up that never transpired. Now that reboots and sequels are all the rage, the concept has been revisited again. This time with the creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman mentioned as a creative force. This would make a lot of sense as Kirkman has established a reputation for dealing with the horror genre.

A possible wrench might be that Kirkman has already been mentioned about being involved in a new film about Dracula’s assistant Renfield. If this were to come to fruition, his time might be rather stretched. Of course, that doesn’t preclude him from a Producer or an Executive Producers role. If the Werewolf project were to get that far.

Would you like to see a new take on the American Werewolf tale? How do you think Kirkman would change the direction of the film? Share your thoughts with us at Geek Vibes Nation.
