WandaVision Finale: An Emotional and Impactful Ending to an Intrepid Show

Today is the end of WandaVision. Eight weeks ago, it was hard to see where this Disney+ series was going. It was cute, fun, and Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany were adorable. Throughout the episodes, we were introduced to unresolved pain, dangerous situations, action-packed scenes, and consequences that will have long-lasting effects to the MCU. The WandaVision finale was the culmination of the little breadcrumbs being left in every episode. Sure, I’m sure some people will be disappointed due to their fan theories not panning out. However, I thought the most important thing here was Wanda and her story. And her end in WandaVision was better than I imagined.

Slight Spoilers

I guess this is where my non-comic book knowledge does me good. I did not grow up reading these comics, so I don’t have as much of an investment as other viewers. While I absolutely love the MCU and probably know more than I care to admit, I don’t have any expectations of where the future is going. All I know if I believe that WandaVision was executed brilliantly. Pretty much, I believe in Scarlet Witch supremacy.

The conclusive fight between Wanda and Agatha was certainly fun and had some epic twists and turns. What was even cooler was the transformation Wanda went through and what this means for future projects. The way they revealed things was incredibly cool and I’m just amazed at what Olsen can do with Wanda.

People had certain expectations for Agatha and Evan Peters and maybe those didn’t pan out the way they wanted. For me, I kind of chuckled a little at the Peters reveal. Maybe it isn’t what some fans want, but I’ll never stop laughing at how Marvel trolls us. Remember how we all felt after the first Avengers when the end credit scene was the Avengers eating shawarma? Yea, it’s a little maddening, but you have to just laugh at Marvel knowing their trolling game is strong.

WandaVision Did Its Side Characters Right

I also want to point out how great Teyonah Parris was this episode. I am so happy we were introduced to adult Monica this season and I can’t wait to see Monica’s powers transform and for her to become a hero in her own right. She has what it takes to be one. She believed in Wanda since day one and we all know that putting herself in front of danger is (in the words of Thor) “what heroes do”. Also, Darcy and Jimmy were great in this episode. Marvel did well in bringing Randall Park back and I can say that I can’t wait to see Kat Dennings again as Darcy.

Why Wanda and Vision Are the MCU’s Best Couple

Finally, I want to say that WandaVision is an absolute love letter to Vision. A love letter to what Vision provided Wanda and what he provides the MCU. Knowledge. Compassion. Reason. Even his fight with “white Vision” is a reminder why Vision was such an important character. And it’s all thanks to Paul Bettany. If this is the last time we see Wanda and Vision together, I’ll have WandaVision to remind me the beautiful relationship Bettany and Olsen have crafted for us. One that transcended capes and powers. I think the ending of WandaVision is beautiful. I’m sorry if you didn’t feel satisfied with it, but I got what I wanted out of it.
