WarnerMedia and Netflix Mulling Over Decision To Stop Filming In Georgia

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”23216″ img_size=”790×444″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Earlier today we reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger said the new abortion laws in Georgia could make it harder for them to continue filming. Now in a report from Deadline it seems WarnerMedia (AT&T) and Netflix are deciding whether or not to continue filming in Georgia as well. In statement WarnerMedia had this to say

“We operate and produce work in many states and within several countries at any given time and while that doesn’t mean we agree with every position taken by a state or a country and their leaders, we do respect due process, We will watch the situation closely and if the new law holds we will reconsider Georgia as the home to any new productions. As is always the case, we will work closely with our production partners and talent to determine how and where to shoot any given project.”

WarnerMedia has a huge footprint in Atlanta as that is the home for CNN, TBS, and TNT, which WarnerMedia owns and operates. Should the bill go through it could spell doom for Georgia, especially Atlanta, where several hit films and shows are made. Marvel, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, and several WB films have all called Atlanta home but that could all change.

We will have more on this developing news as it comes in.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
