One of the most anticipated new releases from HBO is the upcoming is the DC comic series, Watchmen. The last time we saw characters adapted from the series was for Zack Snyder‘s 2009 film. The HBO series will boast an all star cast of talent from Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Tim Blake Nelson, Don Johnson and Aquaman’s Yayha Abdul-Mateen II. Yahya is currently listed as playing Cal Abraham
African-American male who is the stay-at-home husband of Angela. While he seems at home as the king of his castle and being a loving husband and father, it’s clear his past has a different story to tell.
But is that who he is really playing? The character description even states that his past tells a different story. Well we have learned that Yahya will be playing Dr. Jonathan Osterman aka DR. MANHATTAN. Last week we posted some exclusive set photos that showed a never before seen image of a Dr. Manhattan mannequin that will be used in a parade type ceremony in the film. We were told that scene is a flashback so its very possible that Dr. Manhattan is only seen in flashbacks and not the current time line the show will establish. Now it is possible Yahya is a stand in for Dr. Manhattan in the flashback scenes and that Yahya could be playing dual roles in the show but either way it looks like we could be in for a lot more surprises with this show than we thought.
I have bugged the hell out of my source on this and they have no reason to lie to us.
