World of Warcraft: Shadowlands 9.1 Everything You Should Know About New Patch

Shadowlands 9.1 (World of Warcraft) is Out: Here’s All You Need to Know About the New Patch

World of Warcraft Shadowlands, the eighth expansion of the game, is finally out, and fans feel as lucky as playing strategy like Roman Legion game. The 9.1 patch takes them to new paths on the Covenant Campaigns, introduces a mega-dungeon where no player has been before, adds player versus player (PvP) options, and much more. There’s even the possibility to experience a flying mode and hover over Revendreth, Maldraxxus, and other places. But before we reveal how to unlock this new feature, let’s take a closer look at all the other, even more exciting, changes and tweaks you should know. Here we go.

Covenant Campaigns in Shadowlands

World of Warcraft Covenants rules over the different zones of the Shadowlands. And the 9.1 patch comes with fresh new quests across their lands. The extended campaign takes you through a story that sees all the four Covenants become allies against the Jailer in the Maw. And to make sure you’re successful in these adventures, you get to unlock new cosmetic armor sets. These include:

  • Venthyr – the perfect armor for a ball.
  • The Necromancer guise comes in the same colors as a Necrolord’s house.
  • The Kyrian – lightweight armor that lets you run across Bastion’s field.
  • Night Fae is put together from pieces of wildlife, like flora leaves and stag horns.

The Maw – Quicker Traveling and New Invasions

Heading towards the Maw, you’ll get to Korthia: the first new Shadowlands zone. It’s a dense game realm that grows out of Maw. Here you get the power to hide from the vision of the Jailer (the number one antagonist in Shadowlands) and the ability to mount a beast for quick transportation. These two improvements make the Assault to the Maw possible and help players conquer lesser obstacles in Korthia.

Chains of Domination – New Storylines

The primary storyline in World of Warcraft 9.1’s Korthia is also known as the Chains of Domination. It covers patch 9-1’s lesser storylines that all form the Shadowlands campaign. Players need to complete new quests every day for either the Archivist’s Codex or the Death’s Advance. And they get plenty in return. These two factions provide resources gamers use for gear upgrades (they can go from item level 200 to 233).

Tazavesh – A New Dungeon

World of Warcraft dungeons gets a new edition in Shadowlands. The Veiled Market of Tazavesh is a mythic mega-dungeon with altogether eight bosses in various wings. There’s a lot of fighting that starts at the dungeon entrance after the greeting scene (which gives you an overview of your character and armament). Here are some of the mobs (short for Monster or Beast) you will be battling

  • A Support Officer has many dangerous abilities. Luckily, you can kick its powers by sending out a Hyperlight Bolt.
  • An Interrogation Specialist places you in a Containment Cell. Make sure you move as far from the boss as possible before that happens.
  • Security with Disruption Grenades that can cause a powerful knockback.
  • An Armored Overseer. Pull him only if you have lots of room. He can cast a Beam Splicer that can cause considerable damage over time (DoT).

So what do you get for the reward once you’ve completed this dungeon? World of Warcraft mounts is a valuable resource that will be part of your prize. But you’ll also receive some cute pets. Firstly, there’s a creature that’s somewhere between a worm and a ravager. Then there’s a rat with a hooked tail and webbed toes. And finally, there’s the cat made in the style of the Brokers.

Fresh World of Warcraft Group Content

You can now get an upgrade for your World of Warcraft PvP (player-versus-player) gear. But first, you need to farm Conquest (when playing Rated PvP) or Honor (when playing unrated PvP). You can also get these resources from your quests in the Shadowlands. But PvP battles are much more efficient for gathering them. Any of the World of Warcraft classes can then use Conquest and Honor to purchase new gear.

Item Level of PvP Gear

Here’s the thing: inside the PvP, the item level of your gear will be higher. So every time you’re in War Mode or on battlegrounds, you get a +13 boost. And once you’re in World of Warcraft PvE player-versus-environment mode, the item level goes back to the starting point. This arrangement aims to avoid PvE players taking part in PvP gameplay to get new gear.

Torghast Updates

Tower of the Damned, Torghast, also gets some updates in Shadowlands. There are new quests, some pretty neat quality of life changes, and a brand-new wing. And the cool thing is that whenever you get to a new floor, your cooldowns will reset. It’s now similar to how it happens at the end of all World of Warcraft raids. Every player’s power that has a cooldown of at least 3 minutes gets affected by this. So now you don’t have to worry about using your cooldowns up before the stairs. They get back up shortly.

Are There Any New Races in the Shadowlands?

As we all know, World of Warcraft races are groups of creatures that populate the world. These include gnomes, orcs, trolls, elves, interbreed beasts, etc. Humans are also one of the races. So many of us are wondering if the 9.1 patch will feature any new creatures? The short answer is no. However, the allied race database now comes with customization options. They all have a unique look, a heritage armor set, and a mount. But unlocking them is no easy task. To do that, you first need to obtain achievements like traveling to the Highmountain Tauren, Lightforged Draenei, or Nightborne.

Flying in the Shadowlands

Let’s get to the most exciting new feature in Shadowlands 9.1: the account-wide flying mode. To unlock this ability, you need the item called Memories of Sunless Skies. It becomes available right after getting to Korthia’s primary hub on Renown level 44. You need to complete your weekly quests with your chosen Covenant to reach that goal.

So what do Memories of Sunless Skies do? First, it teaches all you need to know about flying. In a nutshell, it’s getting the ability to mount flying creatures. And after some training, you can take to the skies in Maldraxxus, Revendreth, Ardenweald, and Bastion.

Unfortunately, flying is not possible in Maw, Oribos, or between Covenant zones. Let’s hope these areas will become flying zones in the next updates. Another inconvenience in the flying feature is that changing continents still goes through the central Oribos hub’s flight path arrangement.

Conclusion

So this was our overview of what’s to expect in the new 9.1 expansion. You’ll get new zones, a mega-dungeon, the awesome Covenants, and much more. AS you progress in the game, you’ll even get to unlock the ability to mount flying creatures. There’s enough to keep even the most devoted World of Warcraft players excited. So download the new patch and begin your adventures in the Shadowlands. Trust us: it’ll be an adventure like nothing else.
