It was originally reported by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet that Jim Ross revealed on his podcast this week that he and WWE have mutually agreed to part ways when his contract expires at the end of this month.
JR would confirm in the podcast that he plans to find work elsewhere.
“I need to move on. I still want to play in the game. I still want to stay busy. I still think I can do play-by-play even though others that may surround Vince [McMahon] think I can’t. ”
Jim Ross has worked for WWE off and on since 1993, and served as the lead play-by-play announcer during some of the companies most successful years. There’s no confirmation on what JR wants to do next, but there has been speculation that he could have ties to AEW.
