It was revealed in a press conference before last night’s NXT Takeover: New York event that international superstar Kushida has signed a deal with WWE. Kushida has long been rumored to be joining the company. He appeared on camera at last night’s Takeover event and will soon make his debut with the NXT brand.
Kushida is most notable for his time spent in New Japan Pro Wrestling and is a former six time IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion. He is also known for teaming with Alex Shelly as part of the Time Splitters and the two are former two time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. Kushida won NJPW’s Super J-Cup in 2016 and is a former Ring of Honor TV Champion
