Video Quality
Your Lucky Day comes to Blu-Ray with a nice AVC-encoded 1080p transfer in its original aspect ratio. This film has some festive splashes of color to contrast with the gritty nature of the narrative. The color palette mostly remains natural with a stark eye toward the decay of society. Where the transfer shines is the impressive level of detail in even the subtlest aspects. Everything from the smallest facial details to the texture of various interiors is quite impressive. The picture is mostly clear with only brief instances of murkiness during a few darker scenes. Black levels are pretty good but could stand to be a bit deeper. Skin tones are natural throughout with some impeccable details present in certain shots. Overall, this is quite a nifty transfer from Well Go USA.
Audio Quality
The film comes with a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track that is quite robust and perfectly balanced. Environmental effects play a notable role in the film, and this track brings these elements to life quite favorably. Dialogue comes through clearly without being overshadowed by any of the other sounds. Activity in the low end makes itself known during much of the presentation. The use of the rear channels to create a fully immersive world works quite well. The directionality is quite precise so sounds always emanate from their respective natural points. Well Go USA has delivered a fierce track for a film that capably brings this story to life. There are optional English SDH subtitles provided.
Special Features
- Trailers: A nearly two-and-a-half-minute trailer is provided for Your Lucky Day. There are also trailers provided for Monolith, A Creature Was Stirring, and Mercy Road.
Final Thoughts
Your Lucky Day works pretty well on a thematic level even if some of the plotting lacks the cohesion necessary to sell this as an essential narrative. When the movie is in the pocket, it keeps you glued to the screen with surprising development and a natural chemistry among the ensemble that feels right. The performance from Angus Cloud especially works well, leaving it all the more tragic that we lost such a talent so early. Well Go USA has delivered a Blu-Ray with a great A/V presentation but not much in the way of special features. While not perfect, there is enough working in this film’s favor that you should give it a shot. Recommended
Your Lucky Day will be available to purchase on Blu-Ray and DVD on January 23, 2024.

Dillon is most comfortable sitting around in a theatre all day watching both big budget and independent movies.
