‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ dominated the inaugural celebration with 11 wins, including Best Picture and half of the acting categories.

    –

Geek Vibes Nation is proud to announce the winners of the 2023 GVN Critics Choice Awards. In our inaugural year, 60 unique films were nominated across 30 categories. In a stunning leap ahead of the pack, Everything Everywhere All at Once dominated with an unprecedented 11 wins, including Best Picture and three of the six acting categories. Behind that is The Batman with four wins, including the GVN Audience Award, an achievement given to a film as voted on by our readers. The Banshees of Inisherin and Glass Onion were also multi-award winners with two victories each.

Other films recognized as part of this year’s winners include Babylon, Top Gun: Maverick, Nope, Avatar: The Way of Water, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, Good Night Oppy, All Quiet on the Western Front, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Prey, and TÁR. Across these many award-winning films, and the esteemed runner-ups, include a number of female-identifying and POC storytellers who we are incredibly happy to recognize amidst an awards season that often neglects them.

The GVN CCA voting body consists of the over 20 critics currently contributing to Geek Vibes Nation. Each voter was given access to a secure, private voting link in which they were given the opportunity to vote for films and talent using a personalized ballot. These ballots were then tabulated through a preferential voting system.

We appreciate all of our many readers, listeners, and followers who have helped grow Geek Vibes Nation to the point that these awards are even possible. A special thank you to our incredible team of writers, podcasters, and editors, who help make our site what it is today.
