Of course, the issue starts with an evil plan to destroy the planet Earth. It always seems that some bad guy in comic books wants to bring destruction upon our planet. I suppose that is a classic formula for superhero storylines and we eat it up.

I’m not criticizing Green Lantern #8; in fact, I rather enjoyed it. As someone who has been a fan of this Green Lantern series, it’s nice to see Hal Jordan down on Earth. Dealing with a little more grounded situations than those he dealt with in space. I especially enjoyed that we got a heavy amount of the Green Arrow in this issue. Oliver and Hal go together nicely and no, it’s not because they both wear green costumes.

Seeing Oliver in this issue and having him interact so much with Hal reminds us that Green Lantern does exist within the Justice League world. We even have a Batman name drop and suddenly, the series doesn’t become so large with the lack of “space” being shown in #8. Don’t be mistaken, though; this is the Green Lantern and trouble often comes from up above in his story. That’s what we see happening in #8 – the combination of Hal dealing with “normal” crime with Green Arrow and the troubles that are never too far away.

The illustration of this issue was a bit different than previous installments, but it still did well with the story itself. I really enjoyed the introduction of Green Arrow in this story, as I feel it was very much needed. Issue #8 gave us two different angles and set up for issue #9. Overall, I would say that this latest issue of Green Lantern should be something you pick up for a great team up between two excellent characters.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”23583,23584,23585,23586,23587,23588,23590,23591″ img_size=”411×631″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
