Wanda and Visions Relationship
Many fans have speculated on how Marvel will be bringing back Paul Betany’s Vision for the Disney+ WandaVision series. Apparently Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff is instead contemplating their original connection: the Infinity Stones.
Was it Written in Stone?
At the recent Dortmund’s German Comic Con, Olsen was asked about her character’s relationship with the Vision. She thought their common frame of reference, the Infinity Stones, might have had a hand in it:
I did think of Paul having the Infinity Stone, and that also being the thing that gave me my abilities, I always thought that was something that created this kindred spirit, when you feel like you have a soulmate. I always thought of it as something that made their relationship deeper and heavier and [more] connected. When we talk about love or we talk about people that are our partners or our soulmates in our human world, there’s usually a part of it that we can’t explain. It’s usually just a feeling that you have, chemistry, or a feeling that connects two people. And I always answered in my head that the stone was that for Scarlet Witch and the Vision.
What’s to Come
Well whether it was the Mind Stone or just destiny that brought them together, the death of Vision had a major impact on Wanda’s life. It will be interesting to see how they bring him back and if their relationship will be the same. Wanda has grown since the Vision left. She has recognized her power which was evident in both Infinity War and in Endgame. Will this newfound confidence and the emotional turmoil she has gone through change their relationship?
