Joe Manganiello Says He Wouldn’t Want a Flash Cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home

Do not expect Joe Manganiello to reprise his Spider-Man role as Flash in Spider-Man No Way Home. While we have actors like Jamie Fox returning as Electro, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, and other Spider-Man players from outside of the MCU rumored to join the Tom Holland-led film, it doesn’t seem like Flash is one of them. Before Tony Revolori played Peter Parker’s high school bully, Manganiello played Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi’s Spidey films.

Since then, Manganiello has played a variety of different roles. Including DC’s Deathstroke. And he admits, he would not want to play Flash again if it was a small cameo:

“It depends what [the role] consists of. With Sony doing Sinister Six, putting together their universe, the X-Men coming over to Disney, and the possibility of Secret Wars surfacing at some point in the future, I just think there are so many amazing characters in Marvel. I will say I was actually offered a part in a Marvel film a few years ago…I grew up on Marvel comics so if I was going to join the universe, I really want it to be the right role and I think sometimes you have to hold out for that right one. So, a little cameo as Flash Thompson, I’d rather do something more substantive -[play] someone who can stick around for a while.”

Would you have liked to see Manganiello play an adult version of Flash? Or something more substantial? Did you enjoy him as Deathstroke? Let us know!
