John Cena Talks About Reported Role in ‘The Suicide Squad’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”19993″ img_size=”798×420″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Not to long ago it was reported that John Cena had joined James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad in what appeared to be due to Bautista having to drop out because of schedule conflicts.  Nothing has been made official and speaking with The Wrap John was asked about that role to which he replied that it “would be a tremendous opportunity for growth.” He went on further to say

“You have to get everything buttoned up before you can make it official, I don’t want to say anything, I will just say that if that opportunity presents itself, then I will be very grateful to take it.”

This does not confirm or deny and its possible that Warner Bros has asked Cena to not reveal his role at this time. It was confirmed by Universal that Cena would be joining Fast and Furious 9 which was scheduled to begin production this month in Los Angeles and London. It is possible that Cena could complete his filming for FF9 and then move on to The Suicide Squad which is set to begin filming in September in Atlanta, GA.

So far Margot Robbie, David Dastmalchian, Joel Kinnaman,  and Jai Courtney are set to reprise their roles, Viola Davis who played Amanda Waller is also expected to return. Idris Elba was announced first but at this time his role remains a mystery.

Hopefully we will get some casting information soon but with production set for 3 months away, they still have some time. Make sure to stay tuned to Geek Vibes Nation for more updates on The Suicide Squad.
