Microsoft was the first to strike when they revealed their next gen console, Project Scarlett. The system is said to be as much as four times more powerful than the Xbox One X. As a gamer we want all we can get from our systems such as
- Frame Rate (fps)
- Backwards Compatibility
- High End Graphics/Resolution
These are just some of the things gamers want and I know many who would trade high end graphics for better FPS every day of the week. That being said, GameSpot spoke with Microsoft’s Phil Spencer who said that Project Scarlett is doing just that. Scarlett is going to put more emphasis on having games run at 4K quality the frame rate 60fps.
“I think the area that we really want to focus on next generation is frame rate and playability of the games, Ensuring that the games load incredibly fast, ensuring that the game is running at the highest frame rate possible. We’re also the Windows company, so we see the work that goes on [for] PC and the work that developers are doing. People love 60 frames-per-second games, so getting games to run at 4K 60 [FPS] I think will be a real design goal for us.”
With 4K televisions lowering their prices everyday it only makes sense that console makers would want to focus on producing 4K content that runs at the best frame rates possible.
What do you think about Spencer’s comments? As a gamer what do you want from your consoles? Is frame rate over graphics a priority for you? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
