Netflix Pens New Deal with Dark Horse Entertainment

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16966″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Netflix may have broke ties with Marvel, but it does not mean that the streaming service is looking to shy away from making deals with comic book publishers. Having previously worked alongside Dark Horse Entertainment on The Umbrella Academy and Polar, Netflix is forging a new relationship with the publishing company. Mike Richardson, who is the president and founder of Dark Horse, commented:

“We are very excited about this new arrangement with the talented people at Netflix. We have strong creative relationships as well as a large content library to work with and, as we have seen with our recent projects, Netflix is the perfect partner to bring our stories to fans around the world.”

Keith Goldberg, the SVP of Dark Horse, added:

“With The Umbrella Academy and Polar, Netflix has pushed our content out into the world and allowed it to spread in a way that we’ve never experienced before, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring a whole new slate of movies and shows to their world-wide audience.”

Netflix’s Cindy Holland also commented:

“The Netflix teams are already working in deep collaboration with Dark Horse to identify projects beyond the world of traditional superheroes — branching into horror, fantasy and family entertainment — that we think our members will love.”

Along with Mark Millar’s Millarworld, Dark Horse will join Netflix in providing content, showing that the streaming service is still looking to forge relationships with comic book studios. Under Dark Horse is the Hellboy franchise, the Mask, Timecop, and more. What do you think of this news?
