    No Streaming Required: Physical Media Spotlight For The Week Of June 30th

    For the week of June 30th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.     This week, we explore films fresh from theaters, 4K UHD upgrades of cult favorites, and more. First up, A24 has the mysterious black comedy The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson on 4K UHD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio. The release comes with a commentary track and featurettes. Elsewhere in the world of independent-minded cinema, NEON has the new Steven Soderbergh art drama The Christophers on Blu-Ray starring Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel. We also have an underrated highlight from the first half of the year as the revenge tale Is God Is arrives on Blu-Ray from Amazon MGM Studios.

    Universal has the romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany on Blu-Ray starring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page. The release comes with a commentary track and featurettes. Warner Bros. has the gory thriller They Will Kill You starring Zazie Beetz, Myha’la, and Patricia Arquette on 4K UHD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and some featurettes. The studio also explores the world of television with Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal: Season 3 on Blu-Ray featuring all ten episodes from the third outing, along with some featurettes.

    We have an upgrade from Sony with a new 45th anniversary 4K UHD Blu-Ray SteelBook of the horror classic Evil Dead from director Sam Raimi. The new release provides the film in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision and various special features, including a commentary track and various featurettes.

    In the world of Asian cinema, 88 Films has the early Jackie Chan martial arts film Magnificent Bodyguards on Blu-Ray newly restored in 4K from the Original Camera Negative in both 2-D and 3-D. The release comes with a commentary track, video essays, and more. Cult Epics has the controversial Tsui Hark crime film Don’t Play With Fire on Blu-Ray with multiple cuts of the film, a commentary track and more. The label also has the Dutch satire VD on Blu-Ray from a 2K restoration with a commentary track and a short film.

    The heroes at Severin Films have a stellar trio of titles not to be missed this month. The documentary Children of the Wicker Man follows the children of director Robin Hardy as they explore their relationship with their father and his career. This Blu-Ray release comes with additional interviews, a Q&A, and more. We also have some impressive box sets, such as The World of Lucile Hadzihalilovic, which includes Innocence, Evolution, Earwig, and The Ice Tower on Blu-Ray. The release includes interviews, short films, and video essays. There is also Sangster Directs Hammer, which has The Horror of Frankenstein, Lust For a Vampire, and Fear in the Night on 4K UHD Blu-Ray from new 4K scans of the Original Camera Negative in Dolby Vision. The set is loaded with supplements, such as commentary tracks, interviews, video essays, and more.
