Hulu has acquired the domestic rights for the Sarah Paulson-led thriller ‘Run’. The horror-thriller makes the move from Lionsgate to the streaming platform. Originally, Run was meant to be released by Lionsgate on May 8th. Then COVID-19 hit. Which, meant Run’s theatrical release was pushed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, plenty of outlets wanted Run. Paulson leads as a mother who has raised her daughter (played by Kiera Allen) in complete isolation. She’s controlled everything since her daughter was born. Slowly, the wheelchair-bound teenager begins opening her eyes to the unsettling secrets that surround her. Which, causes her to fight for her life.
Run is the first thriller to star a wheelchair user, since 1948’s The Sign of The Ram. Director Aneesh Chaganty commented:
“We’re super excited audiences will get to stream Run on Hulu, a platform that’s really committed to giving the movie the same, big splash that was always intended for it. Plus, the film is about a girl who’s been quarantined at home her whole life; watching it the same way should be a fitting experience in 2020.”
