#SaveDaredevil Campaign Purchased Billboards In Times Square

The love for Daredevil will not be squashed simply because Netflix has decided to discontinue the series. The #SaveDaredevil campaign is still strong despite the streaming services announcing that they are canceling both The Punisher and Jessica Jones (although it will still release its third season), thus severing the ties they had with Marvel. Still, this is a “Fandom Without Fear”, shown by a few digital billboards in Time Square, purchased by the campaign. For five minutes of screen time, the billboards showed near 42nd street during lunch hour, which you can see below.

One quote on the billboard was “Battlin’” Jack Murdock, Matt Murdock’s father:

“The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it’s how he gets back up.”

This was the same quote Jeph Loeb, Marvel Television’s Head; used in his letter to the fans. Stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Amy Rutberg all expressed support for the cause, including Royce Johnson, who spoke with ComicBook.com about the cancellations:

“It’s bittersweet,” Johnson says of the Netflix cancellations. “We’re moving forward in our careers, but we were a family. I can’t express that enough. That’s why we’re doing the campaign for Save Daredevil, just because of the … more in doing it for the fans. They’ve supported so many years, and they’re loyal. They’re very loyal, you know?”

“And if I can be out there championing with them, with a tee shirt and a poster on, saying, “Save Daredevil,” the actor continues. “Their voices need to be heard as well, and I’m one of the guys who are willing to do that for them to say, thank you for being a part of this amazing journey.”

Other stars, even Eminem himself expressed outrage towards The Punisher being canceled, solidifying that there are so many out there who are disappointed by what Netflix is doing.
