Could anyone be more excited about the upcoming season of The Punisher than me? I don’t think so. Having wrapped a little over two weeks ago, the internet has been full of behind the scenes filming pictures and video. We’ve seen Ben Barnes as Billy Russo going up against Frank Castle. We’ve seen the pictures from Albany, where it seems an ambulance is literally going to drop off a bridge, and we’ve even seen the return of Brett Mahoney. There are so many goodies and now that filming is wrapped, hopefully, we’ll be getting more official footage.
According to some leaked photos, we can see Frank donning the famous Punisher skull vest. In the first season, Frank had thrown away his memento mori after wrapping up his mission in the first episode; or so he thought. It was only when he was preparing for his final showdown with Agent Orange and Billy Russo that he brought the skull back; officially accepting that he was The Punisher. Jon Bernthal is the kind of actor who could be Frank Castle even without the symbol, but we like seeing it, regardless.

Marvel’s CCO, Joe Quesada promises that this season of The Punisher is,
“Crazy stuff. It’s going to be exactly what fans want. And Bernthal, Bernthal is Bernthal, man. He’s a force of nature, the dude.”
The Punisher is expected to premiere early 2019.
