There has been much controversy with Star Wars since the start of J.J. Abrams ‘Force Awakens‘ all the way up until the ‘Rise of Skywalker.’ Lucasfilm finally started hitting their stride with the fandom with the first Star Wars Series in Disney Plus, ‘The Mandalorian.’ and ever since Star Wars as a franchise has been looking better and better. Skip a few years at Star Wars Celebration 2022 we get a whole bunch of incredible news about Star Wars new shows, films, and Games. From Announcing animated shows like the second season of ‘Bad Batch’ and ‘Visions’ to ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 and ‘Skelton Crew.’ Also the first trailer for Tony Gilroy’s ‘Andor‘ Series.

A few of us were honored to listen in on the ‘Andor’ Press Junket; getting a bigger insight into what these amazing actors went through during the filming process and what we should look forward to.

The Moderator Joe Neumaier, New York Daily News asked a question to Tony Gilroy:
Tony, to start off with, this series is a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy, involving the burgeoning rebellion in its infancy in the years prior to the film Rogue One. What inspired you to create the series? And what was your vision for it?

Tony Gilroy answers
I think the main idea is we have a character in Rogue One. And we know where he ends up. And we know how accomplished and complicated he is. And the idea that we can do a story that takes him literally from his childhood origins and walk him through a five-year history of an odyssey that takes him to that place, during a revolution, during a moment in history in a place where huge events are happening and real people are being crushed by it, the factthat we could follow somebody as an example of a revolution all the way through to the end, that was the walk-in for me.
What I find interesting about Tony Gilroy’s first answer is that he understands this character through and through. He understands that the audience knows how Andor’s character story will end, but what we don’t know is what he’s been through prior to ‘Rouge One.’ Potentially that can lead to better stories much like how Clone Wars the animated show did. And from the first four episodes that I have seen, you can tell Tony Gilroy put a lot of time and effort into creating a rich universe built around Cassian.

Make sure to watch Andor on Disney Plus on September 21, 2022!
