The Warner Archive has announced two new titles to debut on Blu-Ray in September: Rachel, Rachel (1968) and Abe Lincoln In Illinois (1940). Details on these amazing films can be found below:
Rachel, Rachel (1968)

Synopsis: New England schoolteacher Rachel Cameron’s life is small and safe. Too much so for a warmhearted woman who wants to do something – anything – to slip into spinsterhood Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward joined their stellar talents on this powerfully human movie, he debuting as director, and she gives one of her hallmark screen performances. Both won New York Film Critics and Golden Globe awards for their work, and the film garnered four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture. The Newmans teamed afterward on other masterful films, but for tenderness, insight, and artistry, none surpassed Rachel, Rachel.

Synopsis: One man stands tall, destined to guide a fractured United States through its greatest crisis. In Robert E. Sherwood’s riveting screen adaptation of his own Pulitzer Prize-willing play, the film follows the life of a young Abe Lincoln in Illinois. Working as a woodsman in the Western frontier, young Lincoln (Raymond Massey) falls in love with Ann Rutledge (Mary Howard) but marries the mercurial Mary Todd (Ruth Gordon). As he develops a law practice, Lincoln is drawn into politics–and the seminal debates with Stephen Douglas (Gene Lockhart) –as the struggle to end slavery in America threatens to erupt into war. Massey re-created his Broadway triumph in this film adaptation, with his performance earning him an Academy Award® nomination for Best Actor.
